FABULOUS Fenway A have clinched a famous fourth Aron Moyses Spalding Town League Division One title on the trot.
Only a minor miracle would have prevented them from retaining their crown, but a 5-2 success over basement boys Hole In The Wall B sent them 13 points clear of nearest rivals Drayman’s Arms C.
Individual wins from Aron Moyses, Steve Stancer, Andy Bingham and Tim Halifax wrapped up a tenth win in 12 games, rendering the doubles irrelevant.
Stancer was the star, checking out with 100 and 120 and throwing an 18-dart leg.
Second place is yet to be decided, with Drayman’s C slipping to defeat on the final day. They were upset 4-3 by Lincoln Arms A – leaving the door open for Lincoln B to snatch second.
They beat Drayman’s A 4-3, with Karl Rolfe notching a dazzling 180. The third-placed side must win their game in hand at least 5-2 to be sure of leapfrogging Drayman’s C.
Down in Division One, Fenway B are champions – despite a 4-3 loss to second-placed club mates Fenway C on the final day.
The C team’s Jack Chilvers checked out with 113, but the table-topping B team did enough to secure top spot with a game in hand.
• PLENTY of big throws were made in Holbeach and District Darts League’s Canham Cup.
No less than three maximums came in a 3-2 thriller between Tigers A and Five Bells C, which was edged by the former.
Both Kelvin Crane and Dave Piccaver peppered the treble 20 for Tigers A, while Stu Seaton – who also checked out with 113 – got in on the act for Five Bells with a 180 of his own.
Perhaps the strongest team in the competition, New Saracen’s Head C (1) were on fine form too.
They won 4-1, with Phil Povey grabbing a 180 in a 14-dart leg. Peter Richardson also starred with a 117 out shot, while Duncan Hunt finished with 102.
Elsewhere, Phil Newton inspired a 3-2 success for Long Sutton Legion A.
They saw off Horse and Groom C, with Newton needing just 18 darts to take a leg from Adam Godfrey.

The annual event is being held at Tigers Social Club on Friday, April 6, with play getting under way at 8pm.
Entry is just £3 per player, with a bumper prize on offer for the competitors.
The winner of the men’s event will trouser a £175 payday, with the runner-up banking £85 and the semi-finalists pocketing a cool £30 each.
In the women’s event, the winner pockets £40, with the losing finalist taking home £20.
