SPALDING Hockey Club are providing opportunities for players of all ages and abilities to try the sport this summer.
Anybody aged six and above can try out with the Surfleet-based club, who cater for all abilities from the complete beginner through to senior league players.
Spalding’s programme for August is as follows, with all sessions taking place on the all-weather pitch at Glen Park (PE11 4DB).
• JUNIORS (boys and girls aged from 6-14 years) meet on Tuesday 7 and 14 and Thursday 9 and 16 (all 9.30-11am).
Coaching for all from complete beginners through to the more experienced. There will also be skills coaching and small sided games.
Cost is £3 per session or £10 for all four.
• ADULT and family beginner sessions are on Friday evenings (6-7pm).
They are ideal for getting back into hockey after a break and are also good for fitness. Cost is £2 per session with family rates available.
• AN International hockey summer camp is being held on August 23 and 24 (9.30am-5pm).
It is for boys and girls aged 11 to 18 years with some hockey experience.
This intensive course is run by former England player Matt Taylor and his team of current Great Britain under-21 internationals.
Cost is £50 for the full course. Just a few places remain.
• SENIOR Club training for the club’s top teams is on Tuesday evenings (7pm-8.30pm). Any men or women wishing to be in the club’s top two teams should attend.
For all other newcomers, senior training is on Wednesday evenings (7-8.30pm). This is for current members and newcomers wishing to play in the club’s development teams.
