It has been a really busy time for Spalding Ladies recently.
Friday, May 31 saw a team of visit Woodhall Spa for a friendly match. The overall result was a win for Woodhall Spa.
Jenny Wilson and Lisa Howling lost one down, Lynda Double and Chris Leggett won 4 and 2, Jenny Pipe and Bev Harpham lost 2 and 3, and Millie Thorold and Deb Ellis halved their match.
nLincolnshire Vets Ladies Golf Association held its 50 year celebration at Woodhall Spa on June 3.
The competition, a better ball, took place on the Hotchin Course and attracted 144 players from across the county.
The winners with 39 points were Pat West and Barbara Newcombe from Spalding and in fourth place were Ruth Atkin and Avril Norton with 34 points, also from Spalding.
Prizes were presented by founder member of the Association, Noreen Haryott, who celebrated her 100th birthday last year.
nSpalding Ladies A Team played Stoke Rochford at home on June 7.
Elaine Hancock and Dianne Platt won 6 and 5, Elizabeth Holbrook and Lesley Williams won 6 and 5, Angela Roper and Angie Maltby won 3 and 1, while Paula Brown and Ruth Atkin lost 2 and 3.
This was a very convincing win over a strong team.
nThe annual four-way match took place on Saturday, June 8 at Melton Mowbray.
Eight ladies from each club played an 18 hole stableford competition.
The winners were Belton Park with a total of 233 points, second Spalding 231, third Melton Mowbray 229 and fourth Greetham Valley 218.
The ladies representing Spalding were Angela Roper, Barbara Newcombe, Sue Dewar, Margaret Barkway, Elizabeth Holbrook, Hannah Thorold and Lisa Howlings, but the star of the team was Jenny Wilson, who scored 38 points.
nThe Ladies Coronation Cup was played for on Wednesday, June 12 in very blustery conditions.
Thirty three ladies entered the stableford competition.
It was won by Debra Ward with 37 points, second was Chris Leggett with 34 points and third place went to Elizabeth Holbrook, also with 34 points.
