IRCHESTER UNITED 1 (Rogers 14) DEEPING RANGERS 7 (Evans 1, Burton-Jones 3, Moreman 33, 39 & 87, Weston pen 60, Jones 81): SEVEN-UP Rangers cruised to their biggest UCL Premier Division win of the season on Saturday as Josh Moreman helped himself to a hat-trick.
Skipper Adam Weston also notched his first goal of the campaign, while Matty Evans and Dave Burton-Jones found the net inside the first three minutes.
Leading scorer Mark Jones got in on the act too – but Deeping player/boss Tuncay Korkmaz admitted it may be one of his last goals for the Outgang Road club.
A number of higher-graded teams are vying for the the hitman’s signature, with the Turkish tactician adamant that Rangers won’t stand in his way of a dream move.
Korkmaz said: “Everyone at the club wants to see Mark progress and we want him to pick the right team.
“He’s a great lad and has the ability to play much higher.
“Saturday’s win was important, it’s good to get some points on the board.
“Overall I felt we were good value for 7-1, although the scoreline isn’t important.
“Result-wise it’s one of our best of the season and it was nice to see Evans, Weston and Burton-Jones get a goal. Josh and Mark were superb too.”
Although Deeping were 4-1 up at the break, their cause was aided by a second-half red card for Irchester’s Ryan Neville.
It’s their sixth win in eight games in all competitions and moves them into the top ten of the standings – with at least one game in hand on five of the teams above them.
Rangers: Doughty, Evans, Jackson, Logan (Gilbert), Julian, Weston, Brader, Burton-Jones (Cox), Jones, Heron, Moreman.
