Holbeach C pulled off one of the surprise results of the Spalding and District Snooker League season so far as they stunned Division One leaders Pyramid B 4-2.

The Bourne side had been on a six-game winning streak, but were beaten on their own baize by a Holbeach team that propelled themselves out of the drop zone .

Pyramid’s Jason Green (O56) did shine with a fine 58 break, but frame wins from Nigel Ward (R7), Nick Edwards (scr) and Paul Ashton (R7) were enough for the strugglers.

Fortunately for Pyramid, they remain seven points clear at the summit after second-placed Tulips B were also handed a 4-2 reverse.

They went down at Donington C despite winning the first two frames. Neil Favell (O7) completed the comeback for the hosts in the decider.

At the foot, basement boys Consti B continued their charge for survival with a fourth win in six matches.

Long Sutton A were their latest victims to the tune of 4-2, despite a fine 40 break from Matt Smith (O42).

The rock-bottom side do stay ten-points behind nearest rivals Long Sutton D, though.

They were also 4-2 winners thanks to a black-ball win from Ben Lewis (O7) in the final frame against Pyramid A.

Meanwhile, Consti F’s relentless charge towards the Division Two title continued with a 5-1 triumph at Consti H.

A 13th win from 17 games leaves them nine points clear of Pyramid C, after they edged out Whittlesey C. Malcolm Croft (R7) sealed the win for the Bourne boys in the final frame.

Away from the race for the title, three teams fighting for survival picked up potentially pivotal victories.

Consti G stay in the bottom two despite a fine 5-1 win over Whittlesey A. Andy Grimwood (O14) led their charge with a cool 21 break.

Crowland A also fired themselves away from the bottom with a 5-1 home victory over Consti I, sealed by a black-ball win from Paul Cook (scr).

Gosberton are also sitting a bit more safely after stunning high-flying Services B 5-1. David Nichols (R21), Simon Lambert (scr), Adam Twigg (O7) and Sam Craft (R14) delivered the goods for them.

Elsewhere, Gosberton A continued their amazing run in Division Three with a 5-1 victory over Consti A.

It’s now six wins on the trot for the title hopefuls.

Boundary C are also in fine form. They made it four victories in a row with a 4-2 win at Donington B, sealed by Aidan Sutton (R14).

At the bottom, Consti C won their battle with Gosberton D 5-1 to move within touching distance of the teams above. Marcus Pell (O21) hit a 23 break in vain for Gosberton.
