FORMER Spalding United favourites Simon Mowbray and Jammal Shahin have joined rival United Counties League teams.
Mowbray, who was released last week despite being the Tulips’ leading scorer with 17 goals, has been snapped up by high-flying Stamford outfit Blackstones.
The striker was deemed surplus to requirements by new boss Pat Rayment, but was a firm fan favourite at the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field.
Meanwhile, Shahin has finally completed his move to Boston Town. The left sider, dubbed “the best player in the UCL” by former Spalding boss Andy Stanhope at the start of the season, was still registered to the club despite leaving to join Brigg Town late last year.
