A 4-3 win over Consti D was enough to clinch second place for Long Sutton as the curtain fell on Spalding and District Billiards League last week.
Sutton, in their first season back in the league, edged out Consti C by 0.5 of a point thanks to wins from Mick Cooper (O40) and Adam Barwell (scr) in their final game of the campaign.
Consti C did all they could to grab second, but their maximum 7-0 success over Consti A wasn’t quite enough.
Champions Holbeach B slipped to only a fifth loss of the season as Pyramid A beat them 4-3. John Twell (R60) starred with a 32 break.
Best break of the week came from Rob Childs (O190), who managed scores of 71, 63 and 60 in Crowland B’s 7-0 win at Gosberton.
Derek Tinkler (O20) also shone with a 63 break as Crowland A beat Donington 5-2.
