Spalding RFC boosted their hopes of Midlands One East survival with an 11-10 win over relegation rivals Peterborough RFC on Saturday.
A Ben Williamson try and two penalties from Dave Hankinson were enough to secure the points for Town – and move them out of the bottom three in the process.
The derby, played at Thorney RFC, was one of just two matches to beat the weather on Saturday. Both Deepings and Bourne saw their games called off.
See Tuesday’s Lincolnshire Free Press for a report, reaction and pictures from the match.
