Holbeach B took a giant step towards securing the Spalding and District Billiards League title after beating Consti C 5-2 in their top-of-the-table clash.
The leaders are now nine points clear of their rivals with three games to go and a game in hand, meaning they could have sealed the title last night (result not known as we went to press.
Chris Chamberlain (R80)and Ashley Bunn (R90), who made a 36 break, got the job done for Holbeach.
At the other end, Gosberton grabbed only their second win of the season as they saw off Donington 5-2.
Having not won since October 29, David Haresign (R100) and Malc Dennis (R110) got the job done for the basement boys – despite a 44 break from Sid Shaw (O10).
Best break of the week was Hugh Pinner’s (O170) 55 as Holbeach A beat Consti B 5-2.
