TIGERS: Chand unhappy with Kettering’s move for Turner

Holbeach United look set to lose Jason Turner after Kettering Town made a surprise move for the striker.

Turner, who only joined the Tigers from King’s Lynn Town in December, was approached directly by the cash-strapped Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division side.

Kettering have already announced the signing of the 31-year-old – and Holbeach boss John Chand insists he won’t stand in his way. But he isn’t happy with the conduct of the Poppies and will report them to the FA if he plays on Saturday.

Chand said: “He’s been given a non-contract deal, they offered him that without putting the seven day approach in. The first I heard of it was when Jason told me himself on Monday night.

“He’s been great for us and it’s a great chance for him, but I will report Kettering to the FA if they play him. They need to do things properly.”

Turner – who has played for home town club Kettering once before – netted two goals in a handful of appearances for Holbeach, both coming in a 4-2 UCL Premier Division win at Kempston Rovers.
