Christmas has come and gone and some of us are all feeling fat and weary after all the food and parties we have been to during the Christmas week festivities.
So what better place to take the family to for a laugh and sing than Jack and the Beanstalk by Polka Dot Pantomimes, directed by Daniel Woodhouse, now showing at the South Holland Centre?
There are still some seats left over the next two weeks for you to see one of your favourite pantomimes.
There’s lots of singing and dancing and audience interaction that go to make an evening we all love to enjoy, as well as shouting at the cast to ‘look behind them’.
The Fairy played by Vikki Fallownorton sang exceptionally and played her part with warmth and feeling.
Karen Moses, the Evil Venus was just that, evil, right up until the end as well as being great at encouraging the usual hissing and booing.
The king, princess and Jack played by Neil Canfer, Katy Osborne and Ben Rawlings all acted, sang and danced their way around the stage and entertained everyone with conviction and fun.
Justin Ward who plays Simple Simon showed everyone how it should be done or shouldn’t as the case maybe. He got the crowds singing and off their seats dancing and clapping to all the wonderful Christmas songs, playing the fool in only the way Simple Simon can.
The star of the show must go to Steven Stobbs who played the dame, he was so capable, competent and downright funny that, with him on the stage, he produces the essential pantomime dame performance.
