Deeping Rangers cruised to a 3-0 Boxing Day victory over rivals Blackstones in the UCL Premier Division, while Bourne Town slipped to a 3-2 home loss against Harrowby in UCL Division One.
Heavy rain just before kick off almost caused the traditional festive Outgang Road duel between Rangers and Stones to be postponed, but the surface was deemed playable and the hosts never looked back.
All three goals came in the second period, with Lewis Stone netting the opener on 49 minutes.
Top scorer Alex Beck then made the points safe with two goals in as many minutes (65 & 67), as Deeping jumped above Spalding United into fourth in the table.
At the Abbey Lawn, a hat-trick from ex-Wake Martin Wormall was enough to seal all three points for visitors Harrowby. Bourne did pull two goals back, but couldn’t find a leveller.
Deeping team (v Blackstones): Doughty, Lambley, Jackson, Tinkler, Julian, Holt,Deane, Burton Jones, Beck, Heron, Stone.
• Saturday: Shepshed Dynamo v Deeping; Bourne v Rushden and Higham (both 3pm).
