A number of Nene Valley Harriers teams are well-placed in the North Midland League after impressive showings at the penultimate round.
The third round fixture took place at the beautiful surroundings of Wollaton Hall, on a cold and muddy day.
First off for Nene Valley were the U/13 boys, with Zak Stevens (4th) again leading the challenge . Ollie Oakley matched his previous league result in 11th, while Keilin Spurdens (16th) and Charlie Banford (17th) also placed well.
That helped secure second overall, leaving them third in the table – five points off top.
The U/15 girls managed fourth as a team, with Eleshia Reid (19th), Jasmine Oldfield (20th) and Hannah Randall (22nd) finishing well. They sit third in the table.
Sitting pretty are the Harriers’ U/15 boys, who lead the standings after grabbing second overall.
Cameron Marshall (6th) led the team home, with Bradley Spurdens (8th) and Damian Rutterford (9th) also in the top ten.
The U/17 girls were hit by illness, injury and exams, but Amy Gibbons (9th) and Sarah Chan (14th) guided the team to fifth, which puts them third overall in the table.
Also depleted were the U/13 girls, but Emma Gibbs ran well to take 11th and steer her team to fourth place. They sit third in the league.
The U/17 lads wanted to build on their success in the last round – and did just that, with Chris Allison (2nd) leading the team to second on the day, which keeps them top.
Meanwhile, the senior ladies are 46 points clear in the table after a third place, inspired by Cat Foley (4th). Michael Moore’s 24th place was the best the senior men could muster, as they stay down in seventh place.
The U/11s all ran really well, with Sam Oakley (23rd) and Tom Friend (26th) the first two home.
