Long Sutton B have opened up an eight point lead in Spalding and District Snooker League Division One after thumping champions Pyramid F 6-0.
In a high quality game at Bourne, seven of the ten players made breaks of 20 or more – but it was leaders Sutton who cashed in with maximum points.
Carl Parnell (O42) led the way with a 33, while team mates Wayne Dent (O42), Wayne Howard (O14) and Phil Goodman (O28) managed scores of 28, 27 and 27 respectively.
A 29 break from Jason Green (O56), and 23s from David Pearson (O14) and Keith Duly (O21) were in vain for the hosts.
Second-placed Tulips B suffered a home setback against Pyramid A, as they were dispatched 4-2. Matt Allen (O42) pocketed a 29 break for the victorious Bourne side.
They are level on points with third-placed Crowland C after they went down 5-1 at Donington C, who were inspired by a Neil Reynolds (O49) masterclass. He made breaks of 26 and 25 in a top showing.
Also in the top tier, Bren Bowman’s (O65) 30 break couldn’t guide basement boys Tulips A to glory at Holbeach D. They went down 5-1.
In Division Two, Gosberton B and Holbeach C both moved to within a point of the summit with important victories.
Holbeach were on top form to bag a maximum 6-0 success, with Duncan Croker (R14), Dan Ashton (R21), Mark Gregory (O14), Nick Edwards (scr) and Paul Ashton (R7) all winners.
Gosberton B edged out Boundary A 4-2, with the all-important frame wins going to Adam Twigg (O7), Dick Clark (R21) and David Nichols (R21).
Elsewhere, James Sharpe (O42) made a 25 break and a 22 clearance as Pyramid D saw off Crowland D 5-1.
Division Three leaders Bourne SC A finally lost their unbeaten record at the seventh time of asking, as they were eclipsed 4-2 on their own baize by Whittlesey B.
Pawel Skutela (R14) won the decisive final frame.
That allowed Consti G to close within two points of the leaders, having seen off Crowland A 5-1. Russ Morse (O14) did manage a 24 break for the hosts.
There was a change in the guard at the top of Division Four after Bourne SC B beat Consti E 4-2 in their top-of-the-table clash. A 24 break from Duane Atkinson (scr) in the final frame proved key for the new leaders.
Red-hot Long Sutton C are hot on their heels in third, having notched up a fourth win on the trot. They defeated Consti A 5-1, with Gavin Shinkin (R14), Dan Mayfield (O14), Rachel Mayfield (R21) and Susan Lefley (scr) all winners. Pyramid E complete the top four after beating Services D 4-2.
