A beam used at the London 2012 Olympics has found a new home at Spalding Gymnastics Club.
The Cradge Bank club were over the moon to land the piece of equipment, which has the Olympic logo emblazoned on its side.
Spalding also snapped up two springboards, three coaching blocks, a landing mat for the beam (which also shows the Olympic logo) and a vault mat which is used for round-off vaults.
All the new gear was purchased with funds that have been raised through out the year at a series of fundraising events.
Spalding’s Alec Harding said: “This is a big boost for our gymnasts – especially as it was impossible for many to get tickets for the Olympics. So just to be able to perform on the beam will make them feel so special.
“We’re very proud of our centre and strive to maintain the best equipment so the county can enjoy the facility.”
