Holbeach United are hoping to raid rivals Deeping Rangers for target man Matt Heron.
The striker, who netted in excess of 25 goals last year, is the subject of a seven-day notice of approach from Tigers chief John Chand – who also hopes to thrash out a deal for Spalding United’s Andy Toyne.
A cash bid was tabled for Toyne, who has spent the past two months on loan at Carter’s Park, last week. The Lincolnshire Free Press understands that the South Holland rivals are close to agreeing a four- figure sum for the midfielder, with a loan to buy deal the most likely scenario .
Toyne, who was at Carter’s Park on Saturday as a spectator, is believed to want to make the move permanent.
Meanwhile, keeper Michael Emery will be in goal for the Tigers for tomorrow night’s derby with Sleaford Town. Both Lee Overton and James Lambley are out injured.
