HOLBEACH UTD 2 (Mulready 40, Parker 73) BLACKSTONES 1 (Nelson pen 67): The Tigers set themselves up nicely for Saturday’s FA Cup clash with Stamford (Carter’s Park, 3pm) by edging this league match with a changed team.

Certainly the watching Daniels boss Graham Drury will have only gleaned a limited amount of information about what to expect.

The victory takes the Tigers’ brilliant run since the start of the season to six straight wins and lifted them back into second place in the UCL Premier Division table.

Sam Mulready – whose loan period from Gainsborough Trinity has just been extended by two months – headed them in front five minutes before the break.

Blackstones made it 1-1 when Michael Nelson converted a 67th minute penalty after a Wes Lewis handball.

It was only the second goal the Tigers have conceded in six outings.

But John Chand’s confident squad were only level for six minutes. Craig Parker’s long-range effort eluded Blackstones keeper Liam Crockett.

Tigers: Overton, Allen, Parker, Toyne, Smith, Stupple (Tidswell), Treacher (Flack), Lewis, Mulready, Harris (Sells), Griffiths.

• The Tigers travel to Deeping Rangers in the league on Tuesday (7.45pm)
