CARTER’S Park Bowls Club have won the Driffil Trophy for the first time.
The Holbeach side edged a nail-biting final 66-65 against Blossom Way at Long Bennington.
In what was a thrilling clash, Carter’s Park’s last playing rink scored three shots to clinch the match at the death.
On their way to the title Park knocked out 2011 winners Skegness Foreshore in the last four.
• SCOTT Dunham of Carter’s Park has qualified for the National Championships in Worthing after securing the Lincolnshire singles crown.
Dunham will also feature in the mixed doubles with team-mate Annalisa Bellamy.
• THERE has been plenty of success for Carter’s Park in EBF competition this season.
Ron Flowers was victorious in the Tom Mansfield singles event, while Richard, Andy and Scott Dunham combined to lift the Carholme Trophy.
The trio will now represent Lincolnshire at the national finals at Skegness.
