VOLLEYBALL Spalding want anybody inspired by the London 2012 Olympics to give their sport a try this weekend.
Starting this Saturday, coaches from the club will be at the Castle Sports Complex Club (noon-2pm) to support and coach volleyball to beginners and improvers throughout the summer holiday period, as part of the national “Join In” campaign.
It’s as simple as it sounds, with anybody keen to give the sport a try simply able to head to the Castle and join in with the session.
The volleyball will take place on the tennis courts and is an open session for all over eight years old.
That means families can participate together and learn a new sport in the process. For those who enjoy the session, Spalding can offer volleyball to all ages, all year round.
The club supports juniors (age 10-13), youths (13-19) and women at Spalding Grammar school on Monday and Thursday evenings. All others will be entitled to play at The Castle Sports Complex on Sunday evenings.
Spalding was the first volleyball club in the country to achieve the Clubmark award. Their youth team play in the Lincolnshire adult league, with seniors in the Cambridgeshire League.
