THE amazing maize maze at Whaplode is finally open and ready for visitors to discover its three Olympic style labyrinths.
There are gold, silver and bronze mazes this year in celebration of the London Olympics.
As the settee sport of watching the Games ends on Sunday, it’s time to start getting active with a gentle stroll through the network of paths.
Heavy rainfall delayed the maze’s normal opening, but Lance Whittington says the maize is growing rapidly now, at about 4ft 6in on Tuesday.
He said: “The weather has been horrendous and people are sitting in watching the Olympics.
“But the maize looks alright now.
“When you get heat it grows really quickly. It goes beserk.
“It might be 4ft 6in one day and 5ft the next.”
The maize is open seven days a week from 10am to 6pm – last entry 5.30pm.
Entry costs £5 for adults, £4 for children, £4.50 for senior citizens and £18 for a family of four.
