POLICE believe four serious thefts, including one in Market Deeping, may be linked.
At about 3am on Tuesday, thieves broke into Norwich and Peterborough in Market Place before breaking into the back of the cash machine and stealing an undisclosed amount of cash.
It is believed the theft could be linked to a burglary in High Street, Ruskington, at 1.45am where a fork-lift type machine was used to drive into the front of Wilkinson’s Financial Services, causing substantial damage, and a cash machine stolen.
Earlier, at about 11pm on Monday, burglars broke into the petrol station at Morrisons in Heapham Road, Gainsborough, but were disturbed by police. It is not yet clear whether anything was stolen.
And just after midnight, thieves broke into M and D convenience store in Main Street, Claypole and stole cigarettes worth about £3,000.
Det Insp Suzanne Davies said: “We are in the very early stages of this investigation and we are looking at the possibility that these offences are linked.
“It is vital that anyone who saw these crimes take place, or who saw vehicles in the area at the time of the offences get in touch as soon as possible.
“Please call us, even if you think the information you have is insignificant – it could be vital for our investigation.”
Anyone with information can call Lincolnshire Police on 101, or Crimestoppers in 0800 555111.
