Long Sutton sidecar racer Scott Parnell was delighted to put his fuel problems behind him to produce a solid performance in the British Formula Two Championship at the Croft circuit in North Yorkshire.

Having failed to finish both races at Donington Park last time out, Parnell and passenger Dean Kilkenny were in much happier mood this time around.

Parnell entered for both the two 14-lap championship races and the eight-lap club events.

Qualifying in 22nd for the first championship race, they went on to finish 16th when averaging 77mph for the race and then finished fifth and sixth places in the club races.

In total they managed a remarkable 47 laps on the Saturday and therefore decided not to compete in the two club races 24 hours later.

The Sunday championship race saw them settle into a good pace as they battled it out with several other sidecars over the 14 laps.

Some impressive overtaking saw them finish 15th and they are now hoping to keep on improving at the next and final round at Cadwell Park in four weeks.
